Our programs are how the vision of ACCSF comes to life. Through arts, education, community, and dialogue, we create experiences that bring Africa closer to San Francisco and San Francisco closer to Africa.
We present rotating exhibitions that highlight the diversity of African creativity traditional, modern, and everything in between. From textiles and sculpture to photography and multimedia, our exhibitions give artists from the continent and the diaspora a platform to be seen and celebrated.
We work with curators, embassies, and partner institutions to present national showcases, themed exhibitions, and special projects tied to history, identity, and contemporary life.
Our performance programs bring African music, dance, theatre, and film to San Francisco audiences.
Education is at the heart of our mission. We create opportunities for young people to learn about Africa with nuance, pride, and curiosity.
Curriculum-aligned workshops and visits that help students explore Africa’s history, culture, and global contributions.
Teaching materials created with accuracy and depth—highlighting Africa’s diversity across nations, cultures, and stories.
Programs that build identity, confidence, global awareness, and leadership for the next generation.
We envision ACCSF as a living room for African and Afro-diasporic communities across the Bay Area.
Inspired by Africa’s women leaders and in honor of trailblazers like Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. ACCSF hosts programs that center women’s voices and leadership.
ACCSF also serves as a space for deeper conversation and inquiry.
Our goal is to move beyond stereotypes and headlines, offering a fuller, more grounded understanding of Africa and its global relevance.
